Namaste, y'all!
I'm Mark, aka Dragon of Tuatha da Choidre.
Things have changed a good bit since I started this account, so I'm updating my bio page. Once, I had trouble defining myself. Now, I see that I am not definable. Every aspect of myself is conditional or has exception cases. I can only say that in this introduction, take nothing I say as absolute, including this statement.
My life is magickal in almost every way. Magick is deep within me, and affects almost everything I do. Sensing, using, and being magickal energy is as familiar as breathing to me, and as essential. I've tried on many labels concerning this relationship: magus, wizard, witch, practitioner, and more. I really like "wizard" best, but now that the Harry Potter books have become so damned popular, it sounds silly to most ears. It may be decades before the term "wizard" will be taken seriously again. So forgive me if I change my label at whim.
Spiritually,I consider myself to be a Panentheist, meaning that I believe God is present in all things, and has an independent Will, and that it is possible for an individual to have a personal relationship with God.
I've managed to blend some of the core philosophies of Taoism and Zen Buddhism in my personal outlook on the world. (Which I believe to be within the general perameters of Ch'an.) Somwhere back in the mists of time (around 1984 or '85) I actually achieved (stumbled into, is more like it) my kensho experience, and it really did change my life, and continues to do so to this day. All that I have become that truly matters to me comes from this knowledge that we are all "one". And yet, for me maya the medium in which we are immersed, is the reality that we are changing (pretty much constantly) with our Will. We cannot change the underlying Truth, but maya is our playground once we see it for what it is.
I'm a married man, and an incredibly lucky one at that. From even before the beginning of our married life in March of 1996, she knew I was polyamorous by nature, and while she chooses to remain monogamous to me, (really, her choice, I never said she had to be), she's quite fine with the idea of me having relationships of all kinds with other women. So far (to early December 2006), I haven't gotten far enough in any of my attempts at further relationships to actually get to the sexual aspects, but then sex isn't the primary reason I'm poly. I'm no swinger.
My other interests, likes and dislikes, and general trivia are either covered in my Interests section, or available to friends who read my journal. If you would like to follow my adventures, musings, and general sporadic postings, by all means stick around.
